etc. for 513 numbers separated by white space. Spaces,
tabs, and Carriage return/line feed are considered
blank space.
The file consists of the header that defines the file as a window file for the AM700
version 1.0 followed by 513 floating point numbers, in ASCII format, that define the
weighting factor to be applied to the frequency bins. The numbers can be entered in
either exponential or decimal form (1.2e–2 or 0.012, for example). The file is stored
in the nvram:/windows directory for access by the AM700 when the User
window choice is selected.
Measurement Modes
In the FFT Analyzer there are two mode of operation: FFT analysis and Multitone
analysis. When you turn on the multitone analysis mode, the analyzer starts looking
for a multitone. When the application detects the multitone signal it is looking for, it
starts making various measurements and displays the results. It continues to make
these measurements as long as the multitone signal lasts. You can use the Meas.
Mode soft key, located beneath the large control knob assignment indicator, to
toggle between FFT analysis and multitone measurement mode.
Displays
In FFT mode the following View Setup choices are available:
Spectral. This is an FFT display of amplitude versus frequency. You set the
frequency span using either the control knob or directly through the FFT menus The
frequency axis for the display can be selected to display either linear or logarithmic
scaling.
Bar Graph. This display shows the bin widths and the bin amplitudes versus
frequency. The bins are completely filled from the bottom of the display to the peak
amplitude in a bin. When the display is expanded the rectangular shape of the bins
is demonstrated. An example of a expanded Bar Graph display is shown in
Figure 4-39.
